Journey to the mall

After all the convincing, my daughter and I made our way to the mall. Ground rules were already laid during the drive to the mall which lasted less than 20 minutes. Bribes comprising of chocolates and ice cream were offered in exchange for behavior which wouldn’t embarrass me.

After the relatively quiet drive to the mall, we went looking for the crocs shop. Initially we ended up in the wrong floor and I was disappointed to find a jewelery store instead. As I was contemplating getting the “normal” shoes for my daughter I realized my mistake and took the escalator to the next floor. Yes, the black letter banner was unmistakable. We had reached our destination. I walked in and checked with the shop assistant whether they sold shoes for a 4 year old. She responded with a funny look obviously not amused by my ignorance. She quickly got a hold of herself and smiled at me. “Yes sir, we do! Would you like the normal crocs or the Mickey crocs?”.

Man, this was getting really complicated. “Mickey crocs?”, I responded “What are those? Can I see them both?”. It turned out that the Mickey crocs were basically crocs which were embedded with shapes of Mickey Mouse’s head and were a little more expensive too. Honestly, I didn’t mind the price. But they really didn’t look good. I convinced my daughter that the normal crocs looked better and we finally settled on a pair of light green crocs. Next stop - candy store and ice cream stall.

I heaved a sigh of relief when my daughter proudly paraded in front of my wife showing off her first ever pair of crocs. I was even more relieved when my wife was quite satisfied with my purchase. Mission accomplished!
