The war!
Maybe I just patted myself on my back a bit too soon. As a result of going to the mall in the afternoon, my daughter missed her afternoon nap. As I sat down to watch my favorite shows on TV in the evening, war broke out!
My wife had to take the brunt of all this. I was pretty much engaged with my second daughter - my 7 month old angel. I hardly get to spend time with my little angel as the eldest demands most of my attention. Soon I realized how disastrous the trip to the mall had turned out to be.
My eldest started showing signs of her crankiness when she took charge of the TV remote. Soon I found myself watching Barney, Nickelodeon and a whole lot of other TV shows which didn’t make too much sense. My frustration was compounded by the fact that our weekly maid switched on the vacuum cleaner which seemed to have a mind of its own. Add a few screams from my 7 month old and you have a wonderful orchestra of head exploding music!
Things continued to be this way until dinner time - a full 2 hours! Before long, my wife and I found that both the girls had knocked off in the living area. Poor little angels must have been really tired. Well at least the war was over and I could catch up with soccer.
